What, I hear you ask? What happened to map #3? Well, the third annual is more of a detailed example map, complete with scenario ideas, so I decided to skip it for the time being and concentrate on the tutorials. I might decide to do the same for other upcoming issues as well, according to whim and discretion. But, without further ado, this week’s instalment:
This took a lot longer than the previous maps, around 3-4 hours in total. I’m quite pleased with the result, and I really like the handdrawn style of these maps. Again, the setting is all my own, made up from scratch and I know nothing more than the placenames, at this point. Again, it’s a map without a title, which I’ll possibly change in another update.
Possible areas for improvement would be the rivers and mountain ranges. At the moment, they look like they were just placed on a whim, which is somewhat true, but on my next overland map, I’ll try to give their placement a bit more thought.
